Late Friday 5s

1. What’s your biggest complaint about in-store shopping?
I don't like trying on clothes. Most of the time, I'd rather just buy something and hope it fits, and then bring it back for a return or exchange if it doesn't. Also, when the clearance rack is crowded with other shoppers.

2. What’s your biggest complaint about seeing movies in a theater?
This is making me realize that I prefer doing things at home these days. Shopping, watching movies... My biggest theater complaint is people who sit right next to me when there are plenty of open seats, or people who talk through the entire movie, or people who bring their crying children to a scary/intense movie.

3. What’s your biggest complaint about personal hygiene?
I don't really have any. I enjoy getting ready in the mornings, doing my skincare routine, taking showers, all that stuff.

4. What’s your biggest complaint about preparing a meal?
Chopping veggies is not my favorite thing, or peeling veggies or fruits. It's tedious and takes too much time.

5. What’s your biggest complaint about your neighborhood?
We just moved into a new apartment complex, and so far everything seems great. It's almost unnaturally quiet. The left turn out of the complex is not the most fun thing in the world to do, so maybe that.

1. When did you last (literally or figuratively) feel the earth move?
I figuratively felt the earth move when I met Danny in person for the first time. It sounds really cliche and mushy, but I knew he was the person for me right away.

2. What’s so far away?
My birthday trip to Milan. That's actually a good thing because it means I still have time to prepare for it, but I can't wait for it to get here.

3. What is it too late for?
I'd like to believe that age-old adage that it's never too late for anything, because there are languages I want to learn and a guitar I need to play more often. I feel like it's too late for me to really hone my drawing skills, though.

4. When did you recently long to be home again and feeling right?
I've had to go into the office this week because we're waiting for internet to be set up at the new apartment, and it's left me longing to be back home all day.

5. Which five beautiful things did you see this week?
The new Silent Hill 2 story trailer, the new apartment, Halloween decorations in stores, some really good sushi, and a pool that I got to spend time relaxing in

1. When have you refused to do what (seemingly or actually) everyone else was doing?
I don't have any desire to see the new Deadpool movie. I have superhero fatigue, and I mostly think Ryan Reynolds is annoying.

2. When have your faults been helpful?
I don't think they ever have been. I can be lazy, which always puts me behind, and irritable, which just makes me and everyone around me miserable.

3. Have you called anyone Uncle or Aunt who wasn’t related to you or married to a relative?
I don't think so.

4. When did you last reread a book?
I don't reread books often, but I did recently revisit Up in the Old Hotel by Joseph Mitchell. It's a comfort book for me.

5. Honestly, if there is a battle between good and evil, which do you think is ahead?
I'd like to believe that good always prevails, but we're living in such a dystopian authoritarian world right now that it's hard to be optimistic. I have hope, though.

1. What kinds of non-music sounds do you like falling asleep to?
Rain is the absolute best, but I also enjoy white/pink/brown noise. We have an AC unit in our new apartment that provides some nice background noise for sleeping.

2. Besides alarms, what sounds do you associate with a particular time of day?
Birds chirping outside the window signal morning, of course. Crickets at night, and the lack of cars passing by on the road outside.

3. What sounds (of any type), unliked by most people, do you like?
I don't like hearing people chew their food, but I love hearing animals chew. For some reason, it's super cute when animals do it and annoying when people do. I also love the sound of a train passing by, horn blaring.

4. In your downtime at home, what is usually the predominant sound?
The soundtrack and ambience of whatever video game I'm playing, whatever YouTube video I'm watching, or whatever music I'm listening to. Lately, it's been Elden Ring, CJUGames and Amy Glam videos, and Simone Simons.

5. How do you feel about the sound of your own voice?
I wish it was deeper and more mature. I sound like an eight-year-old.

1. If you are what you ate yesterday, what is your brain made of, what is your heart made of, and what’s coursing through your veins?
My brain is made of McDonald's breakfast biscuit, my heart is made of sushi, and a delicious blueberry cheesecake-flavored beer by a local brewery is coursing through my veins.

2. If television is the opiate of the masses, what might be the Narcan of the masses?
Autumn! Rainy days, a good cup of coffee and a slice of apple pie, Halloween shopping, scary movies, going to festivals. Enjoying the season.

3. If everyone will be famous for 15 minutes starting sometime tomorrow, what will you be famous for?
Writing some mildly popular fanfiction

4. If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, what might you consume daily to keep the psychoanalyst away?
Well, I'm on medication for bipolar and OCD, so that definitely helps.

5. If music be the food of love, what be the drink?
Laughter
