More old Friday Fives!

1. Are you and your birth family close?
Yes, very much so. I've honestly never had a lot of friends, but my family kind of serve that role. I've always been particularly close to my mom and sister, who I consider my best friends. I call my mom and talk to her every day.

2. How far away do you live from your various family members?
My brother lives one state over, about three hours away. The rest of my immediate family are only 10-20 minutes away. My sister lives closest to me.

3. When was the last time you visited with relatives?
I saw my sister and brother-in-law on Saturday when they came over to help us move into the new apartment, and then I went swimming with them and my niece and nephew afterward.

4. Do your relatives travel to visit you?
My brother does.

5. How do you stay in touch with family: phone calls, email, snail mail, texts, other?
Texts and phone calls

~~~
1. What are three things you refuse to live without?
Coffee, my laptop, and my phone
2. What are your three favorite items of clothing?
I have this oversized black cardigan with white stripes that's my absolute favorite piece of clothing ever. It's so comfortable and warm in the winter months. My black leggings with pockets and my Lacuna Coil tour shirt are probably the other two.
3. What are your three favorite books?
Up in the Old Hotel by Joseph Mitchell, The Innkeeper's Song by Peter S. Beagle, and Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
4. What are three things you'd grab if you had to evacuate your house quickly?
Laptop, wedding ring, phone
5. What are your three favorite songs or musical works?
"Downfall" by Lacuna Coil, "Love Will Come to You" by Poets of the Fall, and "Winter" by Tori Amos
1. Is summer a break for you, or is it busier?
It's about the same as the rest of the year. If I'm traveling, I prefer to do it in the spring or fall. This summer has been busier than usual for me, though, between moving, planning the wedding reception, and planning for upcoming trips.
2. What's next for your travel plans?
Danny and I are going to New York next week for our belated honeymoon! We're visiting the city as well as Tarrytown, also known as Sleepy Hollow.
3. What have you spontaneously done lately?
I spontaneously shop too much. Yesterday I bought some Halloween decorations at Dollar Tree and a couple of things for the trip on Amazon.
4. What's your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
Getting lost in a good video game or going for a swim
5. What's in your pockets?
Usually my phone, but right now it's on my desk beside me
~~~

1. What are your five favorite birds?
Yay, I love birds! Ravens, turkey vultures, red-winged blackbirds, American kestrels, and red-shouldered hawks

2. What are your five favorite pet-type animals?
Dogs, cats, horses, ferrets, and lizards

3. What are your five favorite wild animals that live in your locale?
Corvids, raccoons, deer, opossums, and squirrels

4. What are your five favorite zoo animals that you always want to visit?
I have mixed feelings about zoos, but I like seeing red pandas, otters, wolves, bats, and the reptile house

5. What are your five favorite cryptids that may or may not be extinct, may or may not exist in this world?
Mothman, Nessie, the Jersey Devil, the kelpie, and the yeti

1. What is on your bucket list that you want to do in the next ten years?
Get another tattoo, go to Denmark and South Korea, pay off debts

2. What bucket list items have you completed and enjoyed?
Visited Paris and London, got tattoos, learned needle felting, went whitewater rafting, got married

3. What bucket list items did you accomplish but they weren't as great as you hoped or expected?
Fine dining. I'd much rather be at a dive bar or a greasy spoon.

4. What short term goal(s) are you currently working on?
A trip to Milan in March and paying down debts

5. What middle term goal(s) do you have, and are you working on them?
Again, paying down debts. I'd also like to develop a good exercise routine and lose some weight.

1. Which website do you go to more often than any other?
Probably YouTube. I visit my blog a lot too, and I read Flaming Hydra almost daily.

2. Which website have you stopped going to, that you used to go to a lot?
Destructoid. I used to be an active community member and then a staff writer for the site, but since its management changed and a lot of the old writers have left, I haven't been as interested in it.

3. What is the weirdest or most unusual website you have bookmarked?
Probably The Public Domain Review

4. If you shop online, which online store do you buy from most often?
Unfortunately, Amazon because it's cheap and convenient, but I'm trying to change that. I shop from Sephora quite often too.

5. Which online store do you browse but almost never buy from?
Fangamer, FragranceNet, and a lot of band merch stores

1. Do you crave pumpkin spice all year long or just in the autumn?
I adore autumn, but I don't really like pumpkin spice, so I never crave it. My preferred autumn flavor is apple cinnamon.

2. What’s the oddest thing that you’ve seen touting a pumpkin-spice scent?
Spam

3. What’s one of the first things you do when you are sure autumn has arrived?
Break out the decorations!

4. Will or have you bought a pumpkin and will you carve it eventually or make pie out of it?
I usually get one to carve, but I love making pumpkin pie too. This year I'll probably try to make a pie.

5. Will you decorate or is it not your style?
Oh, yes! Decorating for autumn and Halloween is one of my favorite things to do.

1. What's your favourite musical?
Hadestown

2. Would you rather star in: a musical or movie?
A musical. It seems more fun, and I like to sing!

3. Which actor do you think deserves to be in a musical rather than a movie?
I wish Ewan McGregor would do another musical.

4. Which is bigger in your opinion, the Oscars or the Tony Awards?
The Oscars are probably bigger in terms of how many people watch them, but I think the Tony Awards are a bigger accomplishment. Music is more impressive to me and more affecting than acting on its own.

5. Should old musicals be shown in cinemas for those who didn't have the chance to catch it?
Sure!
