One word to describe the entirety of today: relief.

I finally got my new prescription, and it didn't cost as much as I thought it was going to. In fact, it only cost $15! Such a huge relief!

Then I had a meeting with my supervisor, and she told me that I've decreased our aged accounts by 20%, which is, in her words, phenomenal.

I've been worried about how my mental health has been affecting my work, so to hear that I've made such an accomplishment is just...everything. I love my job, and I want to do well at it. To have it confirmed that I am making tangible strides is the biggest relief.

I'm so lucky to be where I am in life right now. I can't forget that.

Questions from The Friday Five:

1. At what age did you discover you had a favorite color? I don't remember the specific age, but I remember loving green as a kid. Anytime I was asked what my favorite color was, that was my answer. Now, though, my favorite color is periwinkle or gray.

2. What type (genre) of film do you prefer to see in a theater versus one you'd watch at home? I love seeing horror films in the theater. I watch them at home as well, but the audience reactions are always extra fun. That being said, I'm not much of a theatergoer in general these days. I've become too much of a homebody.

3. What's your oldest object or item since childhood? I still have one of my ballet slippers from when I was five. That's the first thing that comes to mind.

4. In what book would you insert yourself as a side character or friend to the protagonist? I would love to just be a hobbit in the Shire in Lord of the Rings. That's the dream, honestly.

5. What's your favorite shape or type of cloud? The whispy ones. Cirrus, I think they're called? They look like dragon's breath.

I decided I want to do last week's as well because it looks fun:

1. Do you cook regularly or does someone else cook for you? I cook maybe once or twice a week. My specialties are soups (particularly Hungarian goulash), spaghetti, and burgers. Most of the time, though, Danny cooks. It's what he does for a living, he's very good at it, and he loves it, so he takes point on the cooking most of the time. I do a lot of baking, making sweet treats and desserts.

2. Which are you better at making: sweet or savory foods? Sweet, for sure. I'm the baker. Danny is the cook.

3. If you had to work as a chef in a restaurant of your choice, which restaurant would best complement your current culinary skills? I'd love to work at a local bakery.

4. What is a cooking tip that you know, but other people generally aren’t aware of? Sugar in spaghetti lowers acidity, and I always dredge blueberries in flour for blueberry muffins because it ensures they don't fall to the bottom.

5. Do you have a recipe you would like to share? I'm going to recommend Preppy Kitchen. I get most of my recipes and cooking tips from there. Also, this cinnamon espresso coffee cake is one of the best things I've ever made.
